Rock Hounds with Cookies

The Grade 3/4 students compared how cookies and rocks are alike. They dissected rocks (cookies) by carefully removing the minerals (colored chocolate chips) from each rock (cookie). They used special instruments (toothpicks and popsicle sticks) to carefully remove the minerals (chocolate chips) so that they didn't break into small pieces.
